I want to send you a demo! My band's gonna be huge! Will you sign us?

Okay, here's the deal; We know you're good. Your friends say you're good. Your parents think you're great. They're very proud of you! The first step is to copyright your songs. If you don't know how to do this, go to http://www.copyright.gov for info...we can't stress how important this is. Once your songs are protected, send us a CD or email us a link to an MP3 on your website. DON'T EMAIL US ANY MP3 ATTACHMENTS, just email us a link. And don't send us cassettes, DATs, vinyl, 8-tracks, or 78s. If you don't have CD recordings or MP3s, then get one of your computer geek friends to show you how to make them. A brief letter or bio and a photograph of your band is nice too. Just send things by normal mail, not Fed-Ex or UPS, as we might not be awake or around or too busy slacking to sign for it. Plus, it's a PO BOX, so if we WERE hanging around it, it would be quite pathetic.

If we like your music we will get back to you soon. If we feel that we can't really do anything with it we won't reply, but don't get discouraged. It may just mean that we're too busy or that we can't invest in another band at the moment. If you want your CD back, include a self addressed stamped envelope. You can send your stuff to:

Slackertone Records
PO Box 5633
Salem, Oregon 97304

Seriously though, don't get discouraged if you don't hear back from us. Remember, even The Beatles were rejected by most of the labels in England before they went on to become the biggest band of all time. Record companies are stupid.....including us!

How do I get booking info for one of your bands?

The best thing to do is go to the band's individual page and contact their booking agent or whatever contact person they have listed. If you can't find the info for some reason, then email us at:

We can forward the email to the right person. If you are a venue or club and just want us to know you exist you can email us at the same address.

Can I use some songs on my podcast?

Feel free to use any of the mp3s that you find on this site, and send us an email so we can listen too. We LOVE podcasts...especially on long trips or tours.

I want to use a song in my movie or TV show. Who do I talk to?

Talk to us. If you're Spielberg, Tarantino, or Oprah, send us a suitcase full of unmarked $100 bills. If you are an indie filmmaker send us your idea and a synopsis of the project. We also expect to be invited to the red carpet premiere and also, one large popcorn with extra butter and some Milk Duds please.

Can I get some promos for my radio show or zine or whatever?

Press promo requests email us at:

What are we doing here? What's the meaning of life?

I don't know, kid. We're just a record company. We suggest you read a History of Western Philosophy by Bertrand Russell. Or stop watching so much TV. Go see a band at your local club. They might have the answer you're looking for.
